This concert features classical music from Russia and Germany as well as Arabian symphonic music. <!--more-->The program begins with Dmitri Shostakovich&#8217;s sumptuous-brilliant Festive Overture Op. 96, followed by the first movement from Beethoven&#8217;s 5th Symphony as well as dances from Khachaturian&#8217;s ballet suites Spartacus and Gayaneh, notably the brilliant Sabre Dance. The first part of the concert ends with Maurice Ravel&#8217;s Bolero.<\/p>\n<p>After the interval, the orchestra will perform two works by Bachar Khalife, Arabian Concerto and Salute. The soloists are: Muslim Rahal on oriental flute ney, Feras Charestan, Qanoun Mohamad Osman and Bouzouq Kenan Adnawi on the oud, a traditional lute. Bachar Khalife plays the tabla, an Arabian percussion instrument.<\/p>\n<p>Bachar Khalife (also Bachar Mar-Khalif\u00e9) was born in 1983 in Beirut and is known as a singer, multi-instrumentalist and composer.
