In the Tagesspiegel, Frederik Hanssen wrote enthusiastically about the &#8220;rhythmic refinement&#8221; in Stravinsky&#8217;s &#8216;The Fairy&#8217;s Kiss and &#8220;grand emotions&#8221; in excerpts from Tchaikovsky&#8217;s opera Iolanta. According to the critic, Kitaenko concluded the concert with Shostakovich&#8217;s Fifth Symphony &#8220;as portrait of an era&#8221;.
